Re: Disfellowship stories/issues?
I didn't get disfellowshipped. It's not fair that I didn't get the joy of having to go through that. :x 8-) I could write a really good one for you…but you’d have to help me remember all the cherry picked scriptures. 🤣 BH I never got one either…due to being on the move I guess. I think the “formal ...

Re: The Great Heathen Army
Or as our ancestors would likely say...."heatherns".   Ivy could have defeated them with one rise of her voice "Great Heathen Army!". They would have turned tail and fled, in fact they would have been so scared of ivy they would have ditched their boats as to slo...

Re: Original Version of Bible?
From what I remember, cofc people would worry about the issue of Catholic monks doing the translating.
We were assured that God would have guided the monks in the translations so they wouldn't get it wrong.
There was therefore nothing to worry about.

I used to eat those when I was a kid. Loved them.
But not now.

Re: Commitment to Christ Ceremony!
Another thing they do is they do not pass the collection plate after communion (lot of people give online). However instead they have the children come to the front of the congregation and make contributions, both their money and money/checks for their parents. Does anyone else consider t his weird...

Re: Closed communion?
As I recall my childhood and earlier adult memories of cofc...communion was always "open". But that didn't mean you wouldn't get a side eye from Sister So-and-so if they knew you were sinning and/or not a true cofc member. Since they didn't believe in transubstantiation, I guess they figur...
