Re: My story
Welcome! Your husband sounds like a very smart and wonderful man! I assume the CofC’s in CA are more liberal and that was what you were accustomed to. Maybe your husband can find a church that better fits his beliefs. Hope you will stick with us here and keep us updated.

Re: Forbidding instruments
One time Agricola put a new perspective on this for me. She said the Jews stopped using musical instruments in their services because they were mourning the destruction of the Temple. Re: Ready to Heal
I so want to give you some good answers, so I will try. I understand about not connecting to God when you were growing up. I had very low self-esteem and that made it hard for me. The CofC is a very negative church, in my opinion. They focus so much on how everyone else is wrong and their focus is n...

Re: Charity story/question
When you go to a church that follows the liturgical year, it all makes more sense. Christians have celebrated Christmas for centuries. The CofC misses out on so many things that can bring meaning to your life. It is truly a drudgery of existence in the CofC.

Re: Explaining Islam_new topic
Sorry I got off topic! Agri, I did read through your info.
Interesting that the story of Abraham has him attempting to sacrifice Ishmael. I had heard this before.
B.H., are you going to do a pilgrimage to Mecca?

Re: Explaining Islam_new topic
I think the teaching of the trinity is considered to be “orthodox Christianity”. But, my Christian Church minister, doesn’t really accept that concept, from what I have gathered. What about Original Sin? I think that concept is considered to be orthodox, but the CofC does not teach that. I don’t kn...
