Re: Christmas

Our family celebrated both Christmas and Easter as Christian holidays. It was our choice. It was a small country church. When I moved to the big city, I was told all that was sinful. I felt raped. Some of the most treasured memories of my childhood were ripped from me. They went as far as saying my ...

Re: Water into ... Kool-Aid?

I like your ID there FinallyFree. Yes, of course, it was wine. It was just something that popped into my head. I remember an elder scolding me for cooking with wine or beer. I said the alcohol evaporates leaving the flavor. BUT! How would I get said beer or wine? If I bought it -- even for cooking p...

Water into ... Kool-Aid?

Ever notice how out of the way the coc would dumb down the miracle of turning water into wine, always with some lame excuse of wine-like, non-alcohol? ?they make it sound like Kool-Aid instead of a miracle? Thoughts? Do you think it was wine as we know it, or more coc spin-doctoring?

Re: Favorite CoC song

I'm always amazed at the beauty of "God's Family" and how empty it is at the same time.

Re: The Blame Game

Nothing like receiving some good ol coc propaganda through the mail to bring you back into the fold, decently and in order lol. It is funny how the coc rarely looks in the mirror but blames outside influences for their demise. Because they believe they have a monopoly on God, everyone else is wrong...

Re: Decently and In Order

We had a deacon who wanted to wanted to dim the lights during communion and the offering. I was all for it. Be easier to make change in the collection plate if no one sees me doing it.

The Blame Game

Sister Elder mailed me a card and current copy of Gospel Advocate in hopes I'll come back. The current issue featured 10 threats facing the church of Christ. Yes, I can see Islam as a threat, but as a threat in general and not singling out the coc, though. However, it's the blame game and always out...

Re: Family Life

Same here.

Twenty years ago, yeah, that was important to me, but it never happened. No regrets, but I find it annoying that so many think one has to married with children, and to not be is sinning.

Re: Reincarnation & Past Lives

It just amazes me how many people used to be Napoleon and Cleopatra. Nobody ever thinks they were Napoleon's bootboy or Cleopatra's camel holder. I don't know who I am ... or where I'm at but seems to be late 50s/early 60s in my dreams. Do I die soon? It's just odd. And lately when I do hav...
