Reincarnation & Past Lives

If anyone's interested, I'd really like to have a discussion. All my life I have had dreams of ... well, another life. As I age, I age in the dreams. It began with a town. I can draw a map of this town although I've never been there. In my early dreams it was a setting of late 30s thru early 40s. In...

Re: Family Life

Speaking of family life, I came from a funeral today and heard the daughter of a deacon where I used to attend, broke up a marriage and is planning to marry the guy. No one's batting an eye. Double standards for the higher-ups I guess. Anyway, I finally fixed the wagons of those uppities who thought...

Family Life

What is it with the coc? Why can't a person be single, childless, and happy? That was one of the things I hated, I was then, and now single, childless, and happy. I hated hearing the elder's daughter -- who got knocked up and tried to hide it till a week before the wedding -- go on and on like she w...

Re: Where's the coC at the County Fair?

You's think they'd be there! In my experiences, the coc is ass-backwards about some things. For instance, several local newspapers, TV, radio stations, and bulletin boards offer free listings for church services, but the coc refuses. I'm in a college town and the coc has been invited to speak at cha...

Refuting the Refutations

I saw an online article refuting the allegation the church of Christ is a cult. Some things rubbed me the wrong way, and I wanted to share them. Condensed from an article link below. My responses are brief but open for longer discussions. The church of Christ has no single human leader. While this i...

There is pair, pair, wonder-working pair!

On a similar note, I could not stand Are You Warshed in the Blood?

Re: Regrets When It Comes To Leaving

I had made a post to this earlier but guess I hit the wrong button.

I have only one regret -- not doing it earlier. I'm at a very peaceful place in my life right now. And BTW, very thankful for this board.

Re: Church Hymns (and Hers) That Got on Your Nerves

I think because it's used so much, so heavily as an invitational song, and I see the walk of shame as performed by mindless automatons, zombies if you will, it and so many others are just creepy and repulsive. Kinda the anti-Price Is Right! I heard one commentator say that songs used by the coc are ...

"I Have Decided to follow Jesus" always rubbed me the wrong way for some reason.

Re: Keeping up appearances

There was a church on my route that had fundraisers such as spaghetti dinners and hotdogs. Awesome food, and great prices. The folks so friendly and nice. I'd stop there every Friday for lunch. Then one Sunday the preacher all but mentioned my name in his sermon. I sure hope that brother was correct...
