Re: Praise Singers

The ones I have seen stand with microphones (wireless) just behind and usually to the side of the song leader on the stage. And they are an adjunct to the song leader, they do not perform separately from the audience who still sings. Sounds like a choir to me! No choir robes, I assume, but lots of ...

Re: Praise Singers

I am not sure I am picturing this right. These praise singers sit in their usual spot in the auditorium, but they sing without the rest of the congregation joining in? They don’t sit on the front pew? How do visitors know they aren't supposed to sing? Definitely does not sound “decently and in order”!

Re: Oreck vacuum review

I had to buy a vacuum based on weight, not on effectiveness. Upright vacuums really hurt my back. I found a very light canister vacuum, and I only need to lift the hose. My dear hubby does the heavy-duty work with an upright Dyson.

Re: Need Advice

I am not familiar with the congregations you recently attended. Are the Mission Point (San Antonio) and the San Diego COC actually part of the ICOC, despite their names? If you have been in the ICOC all this time, I expect you will be contacted and encouraged to return. SOME regular COCs likewise har...

Re: http://findthechurch.com

I checked out my old churches. The faithful in my home town (Midland, TX) seem to have shrunk to the point of meeting in a small pre-fab steel building, next door to the Jehovah’s Witnesses. The South Austin COC is now meeting in a hotel meeting room. Their old building, which they moved into shortl...

Re: A question for Teresa....

In the before times (2001) there was the old board and the Old Ones who delivered the testament of those who had wandered out of captivity and were seeking the promised land. There were prophets and prophetesses that wrote and delivered their testimonies of the many trials, tribulations, signs, and...

Re: Ridiculous reasons for splits....

The Catholic and Baptist are Adidas and Nike. The Church of Christ is Walmart brand. If you lurk in C of C groups online, all they talk about is how they can stop dying, and how they can attract new members without sacrificing scriptural correctness. It's so futile, it reminds me of Nora Desm...
