Re: Been lurking a few months
The writings by the late LeRoy Garrett were also very helpful to me. I agree that unless your husband is silently struggling with his own doubts of the COC teachings, this will be tough on your marriage, especially with young children. How will you handle where and who they will attend church with i...

Re: New to the Site
Welcome, I'm having trouble believing any of it anymore, but am still stuck (occasionally) attending a liberal COC because I can't stand up to my family. I'm mostly just focusing on trying to be a good human being without the constant fear of going to hell.

Re: Back again
Welcome back. This happens to me within an hour of pretty much every visit I have with my family. It has made it where I really don't want to see them, which creates a whole other emotional battle for myself full of depression, guilt and confusion. Hopefully you will find help and comfort here.

Re: The lady who axed the piano.......
His writings helped me a lot when I was just starting to leave the fold. Such a cool guy, and what an awesome life he lived. His arrest and jail experience from his COC alma mater for being too liberal is one of his best stories I think, really shows you that COC brotherly love they are so well know...

Re: Lasting Effects
I feel mostly agnostic most of the time, but continue to occasionally go to a liberal COC church (my parents refuse to attend it when they come for a visit and I already am consumed by that guilt) basically for two reasons: I can't shake the feeling that I'm a terrible parent if I don't take my kids...
