Re: C of C People Can Be Mean
Being single in the cOC is a sin of the highest order. And what is even worse than that? Oh, I can tell you form firsthand experience, if you are single and not dating anyone, Lord help you!! Holy shit, they would just as soon escort you out the front door for not having a girlfriend/boyfriend! In a...

The controversial Scriptures for America folks out in Colorado call themselves Church of Christ. It was founded and headed up by the late Pastor Peter J Peters, who was more or less, another Fred Phelps.

Re: False teachings of the CoC
I have seen people do some really crazy things in order to fulfill their perfect attendance "requirements". There was one family that literally was NEVER gone for ANY reason whatsoever. They would not even take an out of town trip UNLESS it they could arrange it to where it would fall betw...

Re: False teachings of the CoC
Their spin on Hebrews 10:25 is a glaring false teaching. They really ought to be ashamed of what they have done to that passage. They rely on their meaning of that verse as a way to keep their members in check. And sadly, for a lot of them, it works. I have seen people leave their family's sides, ch...

Re: Things We've Taken
On the plus side,I did come away with a good bit of Bible knowledge. But, I also have the unbelievable sense of guilt over, well, everything, and an intense fear of the afterlife. Not so much just a fear of hell, but really of heaven too! From what I heard in the cOC, the afterlife is one of two thi...

Re: Short Conversation
When she said "it may be too late for you", it reminded me of a time a guy said in a Wednesday night class that he got baptized when he was 9 and was nearly 30 and had never gone astray. Someone asked what he meant by gone astray, and he said "well, I mean, no offense, but some of you...

Re: If you could change the coC...
I once brought up the strict attendance policy in a business meeting and said that in all honesty, it needed to go. Just as I expected they would, they looked at me like I had 3 heads, LOL. One then asked "well, why do YOU think it should go?" I replied "well,if someone has to be kick...

Re: If you could change the coC...
Right off the bat, that horrendous attendance policy would be gone. No more punishing the members because they weren't there. Life happens. People get sick. Family members get sick. There is no getting around that. And even more so, those who never miss under any circumstances are NOT to be propped ...

Poster formerly known as Me Goofy is in the house
I'm glad a new forum was started. I posted on the now defunct board under Me Goofy. My new username is OneStrike_ur_out as it is basically the policy of the cOC. One little screw up and it's "goodbye, bud!". Unless of course, you are in the "family". Anyway, it's great to see a n...
