Were they allowed in your COC experiences for kid’s fundraisers or were they considered gambling?

Re: Another Question about NICOC
I mean, just having to have this as a topic makes me laugh now. A perfect illustration of the rediculousness of trying to follow every word to a T in the Bible. So many friendships, family relationships and lives affected or even ruined over such silliness. I wonder if Jehova Wittnesses are allowed ...

Held hostage
Due to a recent health crisis with my folks, I’ve been spending a lot of time with them at the hospital and home, which means hearing all the same old COC sayings and lots of visitors from their church. It brings up so many different thoughts and questions now that I’m viewing life with an agnostic/...
Re: I did it!
I’ve been right where your husband is when my husband stopped attending. It’s a tough place to be in with a lot of emotions involved. However him leaving gave me the push I needed to eventually leave since I was only there after being pressured by my family. One thing I’m curious about is are your i...

Re: New member
Welcome back, so happy you found your husband. To my family’s horror, my husband is also agnostic.

They go on medical missions (where they actually help people medically, not just deliver “the word”, they even have a veterinarian team that vaccinate farm anima...

Re: I’m struggling
Hi Lisa, the COC I sometimes still attend actually hosts a Celebrate Recovery every week. There are plenty of “liberal” COC’s out there. Perhaps you can find one like mine. I hope you find some comfort here.

Re: Conflicted Feelings
Another member here, FinallyFree, loves her Disciples of Christ Church. They have weekly communion but without all the legalism of COC. You might visit one of them and see how it feels.

Re: Conflicted Feelings
Welcome Longhorn71. I was born and raised COC. Oddly enough I am at a place right now where I consider myself agnostic, however I still can’t bring myself to attend any other denomination. It really is so crazy how you get basically brainwashed that COC is the one true church. I hope you find someth...
