Electoral College and Other Alledged Scams

Post by KLP »

Every election cycle when large Blue voting blocs in coastal cities do not when the Electoral College vote they claim the system is flawed, broken, antiquated, rigged, unfair, unconstitutional, and defrauding the people. 2016 we had the added voiced concern about the integrity of the election itself as there were foreign players supposedly interfering with free and fair elections on top of all the terribleness of the Electoral College system.

But are these folks really that concerned with the integrity of the voting process and the making sure voting is legal and fair? For instance why would someone concerned about voting integrity fight tooth and nail and scream racism when the idea of voter registration and voter identification is brought up? These people talk about the terrible burden to have to produce even the slightest bit of ID like you would need at a library, airport, or liquor store. Somehow having ID to vote is the very definition of voter suppression.

And when there is talk about voter fraud, the same folks who claim to want voting integrity but refuse voter ID then say there is no evidence for any voter fraud...though there are convictions after every election of folks voting illegally. But somehow voter fraud is not an issue but we need investigation out the ying yang to make sure there is no outside influence because ya know...getting the election right is oh so important.

And then we have cases like the miraculous election of Sen Al Franken. Recall that messy business that took 8months to declare him the winner. Of course he lost the first 3 vote counts...but somehow miraculously he was in the lead by 300 votes (out of millions) and they called off recounts and swore him in to office. Yes, suddenly the concern about integrity of elections and making sure every vote was legal and counted went out the window...because of course the claim to want integrity was never true to begin with. Over a thousand felons voted illegally in that election yet somehow the 300 vote victory stands.

But of course the Electoral College needs to go because...well because the big Blue voting Bloc didn't get it's way. There is no concern about integrity...there is only continual outrage and chaotic demonstration because the cry babies didn't get their way. Al Franken should have never been sworn in to office in the first place and if he resigns it will be god to have that wrong set right. Minnesota is pretty Blue and likely will vote in another person of the same party, but at least this time the person might be actually voted in legally and honestly.
Isn't the world wonderful...I am all for rational optimism and I am staying positive.
