Hello, I'm John. I've was raised in the coc. Stayed till my mid forties. I was a Decon. I was son of an elder. I'm very happy to be here.

Hi John. Welcome to the ex board.
History is the fiction we invent to persuade ourselves that events are knowable and that life has order and direction. That's why events are always reinterpreted when values change. We need new versions of history to allow for our current prejudices.

Glad to have you. We have ex-deacons, ex-preachers, preacher's kids, elder's kids, and other assorted people who were deep in the grip of the COC. Some of us left long ago, while others hope to leave soon. Whatever your needs and experiences, we welcome you. Feel free to share as much or as little as you wish.

NI COC for over 30 years, but out for over 40 years now
Mostly Methodist for about 30 years.
Left the UMC in 2019 based on their decision to condemn LGBT+ persons and to discipline Pastors who perform same-sex marriages
