I wish there was a place where you could read online reviews of local churches. People who have attended and can tell you what they think about it. I think there are some reviews of churches on yelp but not very extensive.

I've seen church reviews on Google. When you use Google Maps to search for a church you can see reviews (if it has any) too. Some are very Yelp-like.

I mostly found reviews of the mega churches.

Interesting to see the 2 "sound" churches in Kerrville, Texas both on the list. They do not fellowship with each other after a split a few years ago.

You mean the one true church, the Lord's church, didn't agree on something and divided!? I thought there were no divisions in the Lord's church! I'm shocked!!

Seriously though, I feel like almost ever COC has some dramatic story on how some people picked up their things and left to go to or start another church because they didn't agree on some issue (usuallt extremely small and petty). There was a small split at my church about ten years ago. One of the members started their own church, and just one family went with them. They began meeting at the house of the family that initially left. I was somewhat surprised to find that church on the web site, and it looks like they still just meet in their house with a sign stuck in the ground that looks to be about the size of your average yard sale sign.

Well the Live Oak Kerrville place just had a Gospel Meeting with Rickey Jenkins...I am surprised that didn't solve any remaining issues. In any case, congregational split and division is the preferred and approved growth model of new CofC church plants. That Junction Highway place looks a bit liberal from the modern font, layout, and pictures on their website. Live Oak uses an older looking and more King James-ish font and no pictures, so I would stick with them.

If Rickey Jenkins preached at one congregation, it has to be the more conservative one, and therefore the "faithful, true NICOC" ! I love Rickey (he's a cousin), but he sticks hard and fast to the NI doctrine of my youth. He also preached me and half the audience into hell at my grandmother's funeral.

I looked at that site for the first time in years. There are a few congregations listed that I am familiar with and know would be objectionable to many NI churchgoers. There are many not listed that I know are still gasping along. Probably nobody knows how to use a computer. And of course half of the linked websites don't work. No doubt most have not updated their service times to reflect whatever they are doing post-Covid.
