Things you don't miss about the c of c

A place to snark and vent about CoC doctrine and/or our experiences in the CoC. This is a place for SUPPORT and AGREEMENT only, not a place to tell someone their experience and feelings are wrong, or why we disagree with them.

When I figured out that this was their excuse for Bible class being allowed, it occurred to me that they're actually agreeing with the "no Bible class" churches in a sense.

I was raised no class. If I were still CoC I'd go to a non-sunday school one.
I still say the "no class" church is way more reasonable than the NICOC.

If there is a midweek service now, it is because of a special occasion: Ash Wednesday, Maundy Thursday, Thanksgiving Day, something of that sort. It's very refreshing rather than the monotony of "Did you do your lesson?" And when you get to church there are four or five people huddled up in the back copying out of each other's workbooks because they didn't do the stupid lesson in advance.

I hated going to church 3 times a week and I am sorry we put our children through that. I don’t mind going on a Sunday morning now, especially since I love my church. Also, going occasionally at other times for special things is fine.

I don't think pantyhose are even scriptural. I can't find any scriptural authority for pantyhose. Maybe that is one of those Silence of the scriptures things or maybe a necessary inference.

I think that might apply to having green jello at all social events too. I'm pretty sure that's scriptural, at least it should be because it was always there. It comes with or without fruit mixed in. 8-)

Pantyhose seem like it is uncomfortable to wear and a pain to try to get on. Glad as a guy I never had to worry with it.

I particularly remember putting pantyhose back on on Sunday and Wednesday nights during the hot summers to go back to church in the evening.
Yuck.
