I read a statistic somewhere that around 70% of church pastors admitted they had looked at online porn in the past 3 months. And the pastor at my Presbyterian church admitted that years ago, he had an "addiction" to pornography.

The last congration I attended has a practice of sitting at the back of the sanctuary for Sunday evening services. If you want to take communion, you have to walk to the front of everyone and sit on the front row by yourself or with a couple of other people. Subtle, but still shaming.

Eek! That is one I haven’t heard before. A new way to make members uncomfortable.

One thing that always got me was, someone would gush over me if I served at the Lord's table or did the scripture reading or something of that nature. Then they would say something like what an amazing example I was or some such. Internally, I was like "why....am I this amazing example? Because I am nice when I'm in services?". For instance, I am a kinky guy. I'm into some pretty kinky stuff. Granted, nothing really hardcore, but, kinky nonetheless. BDSM type stuff. I won't go further than that as I'm sure some reading will be like "woah...guy....too much information". Anyway, I say that to say, I wasn't going to look up BDSM stuff on my phone at church or tell anyone there about my experiences with it. So, those who gushed over me really failed to understand that, of course I was on my Ps and Qs while I was there! To me it is like, they don't think beyond the walls of the building. Which, given that it's the cOC....that's about par for the course.
