Mission trips, or Christian tourism?

A place to snark and vent about CoC doctrine and/or our experiences in the CoC. This is a place for SUPPORT and AGREEMENT only, not a place to tell someone their experience and feelings are wrong, or why we disagree with them.

I am sure they enjoyed their trip to Mexico and it was a great cultural experience for them.

I personally can't see myself wanting to go on a mission trip, because I'm not particularly religious anymore. Even when I was religious, I couldn't see myself witnessing to people. It didn't fit with my personality.

It's true that people can be missionaries anywhere. No travel required.

Or paid vacations for the elders and deacons and their families. Forget those who truly want to go on mission trips!
