Divorce and Remarriage?
A question concerning what is the experience of people here concerning individuals who divorced or separated from a spouse for reasons other than adultery (like being abused or beaten half to death or abandoned). Do any younger people just remain celibate because they have no biblical grounds for remarriage and their only option is to make up with their one eternal spouse?
Re: Divorce and Remarriage?
I think that 'eternal spouse' notion is ridiculous, given that the 'church' believes that there is NO marriage in Heaven, anyway.
History is the fiction we invent to persuade ourselves that events are knowable and that life has order and direction. That's why events are always reinterpreted when values change. We need new versions of history to allow for our current prejudices.

unknown to me, and remained single. I do have one person I can ask about the current "protocol" for keeping the church candlestick in place. Stay tuned.
